Legislative Update

Greetings Senate District 25,

We just completed a remarkably busy Legislative Session, two Special Sessions, and we are hopefully past the worst effects of the COVID-19 pandemic and returning to more normal operations for our schools, businesses, and public services.

Thanks to billions of dollars in federal funding provided by President Biden and Congressional Democrats last year, Florida approved a state budget above 112 billion dollars, which is 10% more than our current year’s budget and the largest budget in our state’s history.

I, along with my Legislative colleagues, secured tens of millions of dollars for Osceola County that funds programs and projects requested by our local cities, county, school district, hospitals and non-profit community organizations that will support our children, veterans, seniors, and those dealing with behavior health and substance abuse issues.

I am running for reelection to my final term in the Senate this year, and with your support and help, I hope to continue this fight to address the housing crisis and other economic, transportation and public service needs for our community.

Thank you for the opportunity to serve you in the Florida Legislature and I look forward to working with all of you in the coming year.

                Vic
